Why do I need to purchase a domain name and website hosting to go along with my new website?
A domain name and website hosting are crucial to launching your new site. Without getting too technical, a domain name is an address of sorts that points to the server that hosts your website (the web host). In other words, your home (website) sits on a lot (website host) and has an address (domain) to enable others to locate it.
What is the difference between a custom website and a template-based website?
Our services start with two basic types of websites:

Custom websites are those designed entirely from scratch based on elements (color scheme, layout, look/feel, etc.) the customer provides and the artistic freedom we are allowed. Though the cost is higher than a template-based site because of the time and effort associated, our custom websites remain more desirable because of their unique, higher quality designs that aid in attracting and keeping users to and on your website.

Template-based websites use templates purchased through Webwerx Web Design. The cost associated with template-based designs are lower as a result of us having to spend considerably less time on the design and initial coding of the template. Despite this, website templates we purchase are completely customizable (at an hourly fee), and only templates that are of high-quality and follow modern web design practices are used.
I am not interested in any of your packages - can I build my own?
Of course! You can use our build your own package utility to put together a package of your own by choosing some of the following options:
- Custom or Template-based
- number of pages
- features: contact / eforms, image gallery, Google Apps, Search Engine Optimization, etc
$50/hour Update Fee?
Although it may sound frightening, $50/hour for website updates is considerably lower than the competition's rate. Consider that because of our expertise and depending on the update request, most can be completed in well under an hour, greatly reducing the fee. Furthermore, because we built your site, we know it in-and-out and can usually have your updates online within 24 hours.
Can I update my own site?
Thanks to our partners at CushyCMS, you can now update the content of your website via a user-friendly interface you can access from virtually anywhere!
I do not see my website updates online yet - why?
Oftem times your browser is set to store cached versions of websites to improve page-load time. This also means that you may have to manually reload the page you are trying to view. A simple click of the Refresh button on your browser (or F5 key on your keyboard) should do the trick of showing you the latest version of the page you are trying to view.
What's the big deal with XHTML/CSS and table-less design?
In simple terms, tableless web design is a method whereby page layout and stylistic control is achieved without the use of HTML tables. Instead, text and other elements on a page are arranged using W3C's (World Wide Web Consortium) Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). It was designed in such a way as to improve web accessibility as well as to make use of HTML for semantic purposes rather than presentational purposes.

Why do we follow this standard?
  • The current W3C standards dictate the use of tableless design.
  • Practically all browsers in use today support CSS for controlling layouts. Thus, your site will be compatible with most any modern, up-to-date browser.
  • It is easier to make site-wide changes to the layout with the use of CSS (that is, if the coding is properly done, of course).
  • Web site accessibility for people with special needs is done more easily with the proper implementation of content into XHTML documents. In this case, CSS is used only for the layout and style.
  • Unnecessary code is eliminated with the use of XHTML and CSS, making for a sleeker and more manageable code.
  • Tableless formats make it easier for search engines to index a web site, rendering them more search engine friendly.
Navigation menu - vertical vs. horizontal?
When choosing a navigation menu type, it is always wise to consider the number of navigation links. A vertical nav menu allows for long-term expandibility as it can grow vertically as new items are added. With a horizontal nav menu, you are limited to the width of the page, leaving you with few options (and space!) when it comes to adding links/pages down the road.
Why should I consider Search Engine Optimization for my new website?
It is a well-know fact that most new inquiries regarding products, services, and information begin with an internet search. Incorporating Search Engine Optimization into your new website will provide you with many advantages, including increased web traffic, 24/7 advertising, and expanding your customer base, among many others.

There are people, hundreds if not thousands of them, who are looking for the services, products, and information you provide. Why not give them every opportunity to find you?

We offer three stages of SEO:
  • Stage 1: Meta & h1 tags, submission of your website to the major Search Engines
  • Stage 2: Stage 1 + HTML sitemap, XML sitemap, Robots text file
  • Stage 3: Stage 1 & 2 + Google Analytics
